TOURNAMENT FORMAT
When preparing for a Regional Championship Tournament make sure you have a team that is ready to play in a competitive sanctioned tournament. To do this first check that your team complies with the current FORMAT GUIDELINES.
This event will use the Swiss-pairing method, plus a single-elimination top cut. This allows all players attending the tournament to play in every round, regardless of how well they do over the course of the event. After Swiss rounds conclude, the top-ranked players are seeded into Single Elimination brackets and play until only one player remains. That player is the winner of the tournament. If there are enough players, participants in each age division will be paired only against other players from the same age division. The number of rounds and the top cut will be based on the number of players in the event.
Both Swiss rounds and the single-elimination top cut will be played as best-of-three-games. In every round, a player will battle his/her opponent until one player is declared a winner. Players may change which four of their Battle Box Pokémon they choose for each game, though they cannot replace or alter any of the Pokémon in the Battle Box for the duration of the tournament.
RULES
The current Rules Document can be found HERE!
The use of external devices to modify or create items or Pokémon in a player’s Battle Box is expressly forbidden.
Players found to have Pokémon or items that have been hacked will be disqualified from competition,
regardless of whether the Pokémon or items belong to that player or were traded for.
Please read the full details, including some manual hack checks you can do at home,
on Pokemon's Rules and Resources page under Play! Pokémon VG Rules & Formats.
